Discussion:  It may seem as if we are constantly inundated with upgrades and fancier apps and gadgets–so much so that it is hard to tell which new features will actually improve the functionality of our mobile devices, and which are just not worth the effort.  Moving from 3G speed to 4G is an improvement that will change the way we interact with our mobile devices, and will advance the ways in which we interact with technology.  Not only will 4G connections be faster and increase the amount of data flowing to our mobile devices, but they will also increase the number of devices that we can control from our smartphones.  Soon we will be able to watch or play any type of media that we choose without being confined to our homes.

Discussion Questions:

  • Why are some people arguing that this change may not be a change for the better?
  • What sort of things will we be able to do on our mobile devices with 4G connections?
