Discussion:  HealthSpot’s new Care4 Stations are designed to be a doctor’s office in a 8 X 5 foot box.  The box comes equipped with a blood pressure machine, the ability to take a patient’s temperature, and access to a health care professional via skype.  The goal of the Care4 Stations are to be alternatives options to emergency room care after office hours for children.  The pods were created by Cleveland innovation firm, Nottingham Spirk, who plans to roll out more of these virtual doctor’s offices in the near future.

Discussion Questions:

  • Are there any drawbacks to visiting a virtual doctor?
  • How will the privacy of the patients that visit the Care4 Stations be protected?  Is there a possibility that these stations will have privacy issues?
