Discussion: Consumers no longer religiously gather in front of their television sets nightly, thus making TV advertising the most effective and efficient way to sell to the masses. Consumers are spending more and more time on the internet, on their smartphones, or on their tablets, and have figured out ways to bypass advertisements when they do sit down in front of the TV with the use of DVRs and other recording devices. Advertisers are having to find more creative ways to win over their customer base. One of the ways that companies are doing this is by making meaningful connections with people in their industry that have a following of their own.
