Discussion:  Most smartphones have an option to start a personal wireless hotspot, which allows other devices to tether, or use, the same mobile internet connection that the smartphone uses.  Tethering enables you to connect portable devices to the internet using your mobile phone.  It could also save you money when buying a new tablet.  With a mobile hotspot you always have your internet connection with you, and only need a contract for your smartphone, not your other portable devices.
